Where The Money Goes

Bloom’s goal is to reserve half of our capacity for single parents and low-income families who otherwise could not afford quality early childhood learning programs. Our Shirley Robinson Scholarship Fund was established to provide tuition assistance to community families in need. Since opening in 2000, Bloom has provided care for 1,192 children, 532 of whom received tuition assistance.

While the majority of financial assistance for Bloom’s children comes from our Shirley Robinson Scholarship Fund, we work hard every year to help qualified families find additional resources. Some of our children access financial assistance through the Child Care Assistance Program, the Minnesota State Department of Education and Interfaith Outreach. In 2022, a total of 50 Bloom children, or 49% of our enrollment, received financial assistance or were teacher’s children; 51% of children were private pay.

Bloom is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. All donations are fully tax deductible based on current tax laws.
