Donor Privacy Policy

Collecting Personal Information: General

Bloom Early Learning respects the privacy of every visitor to our website and everyone in our community. Your contact information will never be bought or sold at any time. We do not collect any personal information about you at our website unless you voluntarily provide it. We define “personal information” as information that personally identifies you or allows us to contact you (i.e. name, address, phone number or email address).

Collecting Personal Information: Donors

Bloom Early Learning collects and uses personal information from donors that includes: name, address, telephone number, email address and donor comments when a donor voluntarily provides it. In addition, we keep a record of each donor’s giving history. This information is kept on file for the Internal Revenue Service and is also used in our development process to analyze overall giving patterns in order to guide strategy and budget assumptions.

Bloom Early Learning does not sell, trade, rent or share personal information of our donors, except as provided below.

Bloom Early Learning will occasionally use personal information such as email, telephone number or address in order to (1) distribute receipts, (2) thank, (3) inform about news/events/opportunities supporting the mission, (4) analyze data, (5) maintain accurate record keeping, and (6) report to relevant U.S. and state agencies (these reports are not for public inspection).

Bloom Early Learning may publicly recognize donors in communications unless the donor explicitly chooses the “anonymous” field when donating by mail or online.

Use of Personal Information

When you do provide us personal information as you take action to email, donate, register for an event, opt into offers, complete an online survey, or other similar actions, we will only use this information to (1) act upon the action you request (2) make the website easier for you to use by not making you enter your personal information each time you visit, (3) help you quickly find services and support, (4) help us create and deliver content most relevant to you, and (5) alert you to opportunities or updated information from Bloom Early Learning.

We will not sell, license, transmit or disclose your personal information outside of Bloom Early Learning unless (1) you expressly authorize us to do so, (2) it is necessary to allow our partner service providers, representatives, or agents to serve you or us, (3) it is necessary to provide you access to our events, activities, products or services, (4) it is necessary to protect and defend the rights or property of Bloom Early Learning (5) it is necessary to act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of Bloom  stakeholders, visitors to our website or the public, or (6) otherwise as we are required or permitted by law.

On occasion, Bloom Early Learning may share your personal information with our vendors and other partners that help us with our activities and programs, including sending postal mail and processing donations and event registration. These vendors and other partners are bound by strict confidentiality rules and are permitted to use the personal information only to support Bloom operations.

Security of Your Personal Information

Bloom Early Learning has internal data privacy and security policies in place that govern both who has access to these databases and how the data is used. We maintain appropriate physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your personal information and to help prevent unauthorized access to and improper use of personally identifiable information. No website or electronic data can ever be completely secure, but we are always working to maintain up-to-date and appropriate security mechanisms.

Communications Preferences

We may contact you with relevant content. We may send these communications via email, postal mail, phone or other communication channels. You always have the ability to manage your communications preferences. If you no longer wish to receive communications from us, please (1) follow the “Unsubscribe” instructions at the bottom of our emails and your preferences will be honored as you direct and as our systems allow (please allow us a reasonable period of time in order to satisfy your request, as some communications may already be in process), or (2) remove yourself from other communications by contacting us at office@bloomearlylearning.org to inform us about your preferences.
